DARFILE.COM – Microsoft Edge is a browser that was launched only for Windows 10. This browser is planned to be used instead of Internet Explorer, therefore, until early 2019 there were no Microsoft Edge browser installation file packages that we could use to install previous versions of Windows such as Windows 7 or Windows 8 / 8.1.

For users of Windows 7 and Windows 8 / 8.1, we are stuck having to use browser applications made by third parties such as Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and others. Most Windows users do not want to use the default browser of Internet Explorer because it is considered slow and outdated.

A few years ago, Microsoft re-introduced the Edge browser for the second time with a new Chromium-based engine. The Chromium-based Edge browser was initially only available for Windows 10 only, but after that there were also installation packages available for previous versions of Windows, even MacOS as well.

For now, the Chromium-engined edge browser is available for installation on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. Not yet clear whether this browser will also be available on Windows Vista and Windows XP. With this update, we don’t need to have to upgrade our PC to Windows 10 just to try the Edge browser.

Actually quite surprising Microsoft wants to provide support for Windows 7 as well because as we know that official support for Windows 7 will be stopped in January 2020.

For those of you who don’t know, the latest Edge browser is very different from the old Edge. With the Chromium engine, Edge browser is very fast to open web pages like using the Google Chrome browser. The appearance is also very similar to the Chrome browser.

Another advantage of using the Chromium engine is that we are able to install all extensions available for Chrome in the Edge browser. The settings offered are also similar to Google Chrome so for those of you who have previously used the Chrome browser do not have to adapt back when you want to use the Edge browser.
